A special all-Polish concert honoring the anniversary of the restoration of Poland’s sovereignty in 1918 will take place on 11 November 2023 at the Polish Museum of America (PMA) in Chicago. The music will be performed by the Cracow Duo: Kalinowski & Szlezer, with whom the American audiences are already well acquainted.

Comprised of Jan Kalinowski (cello) and Marek Szlezer (piano), the Cracow Duo performs Polish music composed between the 19th century and today. Their 2023 US tour includes Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, Paso Robles and San Diego. 

The audience gathered at the Polish Museum of America in Chicago will have an opportunity to listen hear the following all-Polish program:

Aleksander Tansman – Fantaisie for cello and piano (1936)

Krzesimir Dębski – Pianocello! (2022) 

The duo begin their new tour of the United States in late October 2023, representing the Polish Music on Stage / US Edition project managed by the National Institute of Music and Dance (NIMiT) as part of the Kultura inspirująca [Inspiring Culture] program initiated by the Polish Minister of Culture and National Heritage (MKiDN). The aim of the project is to promote and popularize Polish music among the American audiences. Strategic partners include the: Polish Cultural Institute in New York (PCI-NY), ‘Porta Musicae’ Artistic Association and Polish Music Center in Los Angeles.
