The Cracow Wind Quintet will premiere Maciej Zieliński‘s Impressioni Concertante on 11 December 2020 at the Gorzów Philharmonic during an online chamber concert in the “Masters of Chamber Music” series.

Polish artists acclaimed in the country and abroad, pianist Beata Bilińska and the Cracow Wind Quintet, will perform in the Gorzów Philharmonic’s Chamber Hall. The program will feature mainly the music of contemporary Polish composers, including Maciej Zieliński, whose piece Impressioni Concertante for wind quintet (2019) was created as part of the “Composing Commissions” program carried out by the Institute of Music and Dance. The composer exposes and confronts the melodic and expressive possibilities of the flute, clarinet, oboe, bassoon, and horn, searching for original sound and texture combinations.

The artists will also perform Krzesimir Dębski‘s Cantabile in h in a version for reed trio as well as two pieces dedicated to the ensemble: Zbigniew Bargielski‘s Fonoplasticon, full of original sound and color effects, and Mikołaj Górecki‘s Burlesque. We will also hear two wind quintets by composers associated with Vienna – Joseph Hadyn’s Divertimento in B-flat Major – Chorale St. Antoni and Alexander von Zemlinsky’s Humoreske (Rondo).
