The Music School Complex [Zespół Szkół Muzycznych] in Poznań will end the school year with a panache concert of Poland’s largest cultural institutions. This unique concert of 20th and 21st century music will be held on June 19, 2021, performed by students and presented on the Music School Complex’s YouTube channel. The concert will be a musical journey around the idea of Klangfarbenmelodie, or sound-color melody and painting music.
The project is an original concept of the teachers of the Music School Complex in Poznań – Jakub Dera and Małgorzata Kwaśnik-Chmielewska. The concept was realized in collaboration with their students: Hugo Przybylski was responsible for the video and editing, and Zofia Jarząbek and Wojciech Śmierzchalski for the sound.
During the concert, music lovers will encounter a variety of music composed in the 20th and 21st centuries. The program will include works by:

- Arnold Schönberg (Wojciech Śmierzchalski – piano)
- Witold Lutosławski (Estera Kędzierska – piano)
- Andrej Pushkarev (Jakub Jeżak – vibraphone)
- John O’Reilly (Aleksandra Patrzykont – xylophone, Arnold Dąbrowski – piano)
- Alice Gomez (Mateusz Haczyk – marimba)
- Barbara Kaszuba (Zosia Olesik – violin, Oliwia Nowak – cello, Eryk Legoń – accordion)
- Mikołaj Majkusiak (Eryk Legoń – accordion)
- Otto Ketting (Karol Łopiński – trumpet)
- Marek Pasieczny (Adam Struzik – guitar)
- Astor Piazzolla (Antoni Woźniak – saxophone)
- Bartosz Kowalski (Cecylia Szczech – harp)
- Krzysztof Penderecki (Feliks Kucharski – clarinet)
- Tadeusz Baird (Michał Pokrzywa – clarinet, Aleksander Kistowski – piano)
- Folke Rabe (Music School Complex Choir)
Prof. Jakub Dera will also present the main ideas of music created in the 20th and 21st centuries in relation to the extra-musical content encoded in works of art. Most of the concert material was recorded in the Gallery of Polish Painting and in the Spanish Hall of the National Museum in Poznań.
