The premiere concert of the second album of the Walicki-Popiołek Duo, Made in Poland (Seis Cordas Records), took place at the Warsaw branch of PWM Edition on June 11, 2021. The program included works by Polish composers inspired by native folklore.

A special project fully devoted to Polish music, the Walicki-Popiolek Duo were encouraged by the greatest Polish composers to write pieces derived from Polish musical folklore. There were traditional dances such as the Mazur, Oberek, and Kujawiak; gorgeous landscapes enchanted in musical notes; and echoes of Chopin, Szymanowski, Lutosławski, Górecki. Also presented were contemporary works for guitar and piano by Chmielewska, Robak, Oleszkowicz, Fabiańska-Jelińska and many others were played with exceptional virtuosity.

This entirely Polish project was financed by the Young Poland Scholarship of the National Centre for Culture which reaches deep into the roots of Polish musical culture and reveals its new, fresh sound.
