We are proud to announce that the Director USC Polish Music Center, Marek Zebrowski, has been awarded the prestigious Witold Celichowski Medal in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the promotion of Polish culture abroad, as well as his artistic and scholarly achievements. The medal was awarded by the decision of Agata Sobczyk, Governor of the Greater Poland Voivodeship, in December 2024.

The Witold Celichowski Medal is a distinguished honor. Named after the first governor of Poznań following Poland’s regained independence in 1918, the medal is awarded by the Urząd Wojewódzki w Poznaniu [Voivodeship Office in Poznań], a key governmental institution overseeing the development and administration of the region.

For many years, Marek Zebrowski has been a dedicated advocate for Polish music and cultural heritage. His work with the Polish Music Center at USC, as well as his collaborations with the Paderewski Festival in Paso Robles and various musical and archival institutions in Poland, have strengthened the global presence of Poland’s musical legacy.

We congratulate Marek Zebrowski on this remarkable achievement. The Witold Celichowski Medal is a well-deserved recognition of his lifelong dedication to Polish music and culture.
