RecArt, a relatively new recording label based in Poznań, Poland, has released four albums in the past few months that feature Polish musicians and composers. These albums showcase the depth and richness of Poland’s musical heritage, from classical to contemporary compositions, and highlight RecArt’s dedication to preserving Poland’s musical legacy while exploring new creative horizons.

Zofia Kulisiewicz, Przemysław Witek – Depths
Cellist Zofia Kulisiewicz and pianist Przemysław Witek perform four cello sonatas by Polish composers: Szymon Laks (1901-1983), Aleksander Tansman (1897-1986), Mieczysław Weinberg (1919-1996) and Ludomir Różycki (1883-1953). The CD ends with the world premiere recording of the discovered miniature, Berceuse (Lullaby) by Tansman.

Maciej Straburzyński, Monika Hanus Kobus – Norwid’s Songs
This album features five world premieres for bass-baritone (Maciej Straburzyński) and piano (Monika Hanus Kobus), inspired by the poetry of Cyprian Kamil Norwid. The compositions blend various contemporary styles, including minimalism, post-romanticism, postmodernism and sonorism.

Szczecin Vocal Project & Consortium Sedinum – Missa Sancta – Sacred Works by Composers of the Royal Court Ensemble in Warsaw
Although not focused on works by Polish composers, this album revives the works of Italian masters who were composing at the Polish royal court in Warsaw during the Vasa dynasty. Recorded by the Szczecin Vocal Project and Consortium Sedinum.

Sepia Ensemble – L’Atelier Sonoristique / Sonoristic Workshop
Marking 60 years since the founding of the avant-garde group ‘Warsztat Muzyczny’ by Zygmunt Krauze, Sepia Ensemble from Poznań explores Poland’s sonoristic tradition.
