The Zarębski Piano Duo, an ensemble formed a decade ago in Kraków and specializing in repertoire for piano four-hands, will be visiting the United States in the coming weeks. The ensemble’s pianists, Grzegorz Mania and Piotr Różański, are professors at the Bydgoszcz and Kraków Music Academies. Their anticipated return comes in connection with the annual Music by Women Festival taking place in Columbus, Mississippi. They will present and discuss a number of works by contemporary women composers, including Joanna Bruzdowicz, Hanna Kulenty, Katarzyna Kwiecień-Długosz, and Anna Rocławska-Musiałczyk at the Festival, held March 7-9 on the campus of the Mississippi University of Women.

Audiences in Southern California will also hear the Zarębski Piano Duo perform works by some of the composers above, as well as other four-hand repertoire staples by Ignacy Friedman, Maurycy Moszkowski, Aleksander Tansman, and Juliusz Zarębski. Their Los Angeles performance will take place on February 25 at 3:00 pm on the campus of Loyola Marymount University. Jointly sponsored by the Adam Mickiewicz Institute/Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, Consulate General of the Republic of Poland and Polish Chamber Musicians’ Society (SPMK), and presented by the USC Polish Music Center in cooperation with the Loyola Marymount University Music Department, this event is free and open to the public.
