The music of composers from Warmia and Masuria arranged for trombone will be performed at the Feliks Nowowiejski Warmian-Masurian Philharmonic in Olsztyn on July 16, 2021. The concert will premiere Tango with variations for trombone and string quartet by Tomasz Szymuś.

In 2020, Philharmonic trombonist Rafał Krauze received the Artistic Scholarship of the Marshal of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship for his project “Popularisation of Feliks Nowowiejski’s music, in particular his selected songs, commemorating the composer from Barczewo on the 75th anniversary of his death. Recording and release of an album with, among others, the composer’s songs.” The songs were transcribed for trombone and piano by composer and assistant professor at the Academy of Music in Poznań, Dr. Ewa Fabiańska-Jelińska. The upcoming concert will feature these arrangements as well as selected songs by Karol Szymanowski, Ignacy Jan Paderewski, Stanisław Niewiadomski and Stanisław Moniuszko.

In May 2021, with the above-mentioned album in mind, composer and arranger Dr Tomasz Szymuś from Bartoszyce composed a piece especially for the orchestra’s trombonist. The world premiere of Tango with variations will be performed on July 16th by Rafał Krauze and the Amelior Quartet.
