The Department of Musicology at the Jagiellonian University has organized an international conference for young musicologists on November 7-9 in Krakow. Titled “Young Musicology Today: tendencies, challenges and perspectives,” the aim of the conference will be to integrate the musicological community through the creation of an international forum for exchanging ideas and research experiences. Young musicologists are encouraged to present results from ongoing studies and to engage in discussion on the future of musicology, its role and place in the contemporary culture.

The conference program will incorporate both traditional lectures and panel discussions, during which groups of researchers conducting a joint project or studying similar subjects will be able to present the results of their studies or discuss a specific subject. Among a vast selection of topics, the challenges of modern ethnomusicology and new research perspectives will be considered during the event. In addition to these events, participants will be able to enjoy concerts and exhibitions, and go sightseeing in Krakow.
