The generous founders of the Polish Music Center, Dr. Stefan and Wanda Wilk, were not only crucial supporters of Polish culture and the arts in Los Angeles—their philanthropy also extended to Dr. Wilk’s medical profession, in particular, medical care for children and the training of doctors in that field back in his native Poland. It was in this spirit that they founded the Children’s Medical Care Foundation (CMCF), whose focus is on sharing medical knowledge across the world.

Since its founding, the CMCF has expanded from exchange with Poland to include other countries of Eastern and Central Europe. As PMC Director Marek Zebrowski prepares to embark on this year’s Paderewski Festival Youth Cultural Exchange, which has recently expanded its quality musical education to include students from the Ukraine, the CMCF is demonstrating similar commitment to supporting medical advancements in the Ukraine. Thus, this year CMCF is partnering with the California Association to Aid Ukraine (CAAU) for its annual fundraiser: A Day at the Races on Sunday, June 14, 2015 at Santa Anita Park. 100% of all proceeds benefit Children’s Clinical Hospital in Lviv, Ukraine.

A ticket to A Day at the Races includes park entrance fee at Santa Anita Park, parking, program book, gourmet buffet lunch, handicapping booklet, handicapping expert for the group, named race for CAAU/CMCF with representative group picture in Winner’s Circle, entry into raffle, Pick Six opportunity, convenient betting windows and machines, a great view of the races—all with good company, and all for a great cause!
