The 11th ‘Emanacje’ Festival has begun. With concerts held weekly from July 2 – September 2, this year’s Festival features a diverse roster of orchestral and chamber performances of Polish music. Concerts take place in the various beautiful spaces and halls encompassed by the Krzysztof Penderecki European Centre for Music in Lusławice, which organizes the Festival, as well as many more gorgeous and historic spaces throughout Poland.

The Festival’s inaugural concert was performed by the NFM Leopoldinum Orchestra, led by conductor Christian Danowicz. Works by this year’s featured composers–Krzysztof Penderecki, Henryk Mikołaj Górecki, Witold Lutosławski and Johannes Brahms–were on the program.

Featured composers is one of the things that makes ‘Emanacje’ so special. For 2023, the Festival celebrates the 90th anniversary of Penderecki and Górecki, the 110th anniversary of Lutosławski, and the 190th anniversary of Brahms.

As part of this year’s Summer Academy of Music in Lusławice, a string orchestra named ‘Projekt Penderecki’ was founded. The final concert of the Academy will feature soloists and leaders of the famous Vienna Philharmonic, who will perform together with conductor Jurek Dybał.
