Earlier in November, ‘Polish Season‘ in Lyon, France opened with a series of exceptional concerts celebrating the richness and diversity of Polish music. The renowned early-music ensemble Arte dei Suonatori, joined by Marcin Świątkiewicz and Krzysztof Firlus, inaugurated the program with a captivating performance at the Auditorium de Lyon. The Equilibrium String Quartet with pianist Tobias Koch followed, offering an inspiring continuation to this ambitious undertaking.

‘Polish Season’ is an integral part of the Auditorium’s 2025/2026 programming, shining a spotlight on the depth of Poland’s musical heritage. Audiences in Lyon have the opportunity to discover—or rediscover—masterpieces by Szymanowski, Lutosławski, Bacewicz, Szpilman, Zarębski, Kurpiński, Weinberg, Tansman, and, of course, Chopin. Celebrated Polish artists, including conductor Marta Gardolińska, organist Karol Mossakowski, as well as Arte dei Suonatori, the Equilibrium Quartet, and many others, will contribute to this rich and wide-ranging artistic journey.

In the coming months, Polish music will be presented across some of Lyon’s most prominent cultural venues, including the Auditorium de Lyon, the Salle Molière, and the Chapelle de la Trinité. Upcoming highlights feature performances by Linus Roth with José Gallardo, the Orchestre national de Lyon under Gardolińska’s direction, the Cohaere Ensemble, and the Wrocław Baroque Ensemble.

Lyon’s ‘Polish Season’ is organized with the support of the Adam Mickiewicz Institute, the Consulate General of Poland in Lyon, the Polish Institute in Paris, and the Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.
