There is a new extraordinary audiovisual project blending contemporary chamber music with the art of animation. This short animated movie demonstrates how modern classical music belongs not only to the audio sphere, but to the visual sphere as well.
Directed by Michał Janicki and brought to life by a team of talented creators, the animation offers a unique interpretation of the music, constructing a narrative through images and movement. It all began with Tomasz J. Opałka’s exceptional piece The Glitch written in 2015 and recorded in 2023 by the Cracow Duo of cellist Jan Kalinowski and pianist Marek Szlezer. This captivating audiovisual experience demonstrates how classical music can inspire and spark the imagination and create new worlds from chaos.
Produced by Ola Kuzemko and “Porta Musciae” Artistic Association, the project was co-financed by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage under the Polish Creative Industries Development Centre program: Rozwój Sektorów Kreatywnych.
