Beauty, sublimity and message: two masterpieces by Ludwig van Beethoven and Henryk Mikołaj Górecki, which have gone down in high musical culture as embodying these traits, will be performed on April 26 at the Kraków Philharmonic. This concert celebrates the 20th anniversary of Poland joining as a member of the European Union.

Beatus Vir Op. 38 by Henryk Mikołaj Górecki and the 9th Symphony by Ludwig van Beethoven will be performed by the Kraków Philharmonic Orchestra and Choir, the Social Choir of the Kraków Philharmonic, the Boys’ and Girls’ Choir of the Kraków Philharmonic, and the Ukrainian Children’s Choir of the Kraków Philharmonic, conducted by Alexander Humala. The soloists will be Mariusz Godlewski – baritone, Iwona Sobotka – soprano, Anne-Lise Polchlopek – mezzo-soprano, Benjamin Bruns – tenor and Yuriy Yurchuk – baritone
