The next few days will bring two new exciting world premieres of works written by Polish composers.
First, on December 15, 2023, we’ll have a chance to hear Aleksander Nowak’s Concerto per mezzo for piano and orchestra. The concert will be performed by pianist Piotr Sałajczyk and the Silesian Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Yaroslav Shemet. In the past few years, Nowak has been fascinated by opera, musical drama, and concerto forms. He’s often collaborated with top instrumentalists such as Bartłomiej Duś, Piotr Pławner, Agata Szymczewska, or top authors, e.g. Olga Tokarczuk, Szczepan Twardoch or Radosław Rak.
The second premiere of this week is Zygmunt Krauze’s Requiem: Introitus, Kyrie for mixed choir, four soloists and orchestra. The premiere concert will take place on December 16 in Timisoara, Romania. The solo parts will be performed by Luiza Fatyol (soprano), Martiniana Antonie (mezzo-soprano), Marius Budoiu (tenor), and Adrian Sampetrean (bass). The Banatul Philharmonic Orchestra and the Ion Românu choir will be conducted by Gabriel Bebeselea.
