The Krakow Branch of the Polish Composers’ Union (ZKP) has announced the 7th edition of the Krzysztof Penderecki International Competition for Young Composers. For composers of any nationality that are 35 or younger, this is an excellent opportunity to present your work to the Polish audience. Applications are due January 31, 2024

This year, the competition focuses on pieces written for harpsichord and string quartet, with a duration between 9 to 12 minutes. Included among the awards for winning composers is a First Prize of $1,000 USD. Additionally, finalists’ works will be premiered in April 2024 during the 36th Krakow International Festival of Composers.
