Maestro Grzegorz Nowak, an internationally celebrated conductor and longtime friend of the Polish Music Center, has just been appointed the Music Director and Principal Conductor of the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra. He will be taking over from Yoshikazu Fukumura, whose tenure with the ensemble ended in 2021.

Five candidates were shortlisted for this appointment and, following October 2022 concerts led by Maestro Nowak, he was universally acclaimed as the best fit for this position. Nowak’s responsibilities will include designing and preparing Philippine Philharmonic’s programs, and leading at least 10-12 performances each season, including touring and the Young People’s Concert Series.

More information about this exciting development can be found in the official press release of the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra at: culturalcenter.gov.ph/press-release/ppo-introduces-its-new-music-director-and-principal-conductor/
