On October 7, 2022, the Zielona Góra Philharmonic performed the premiere of Ewa Fabiańska-Jelińska‘s Suite for trombone quartet and symphony orchestra. This piece was created as part of the ‘Composers’ Commissions’ program of the National Institute of Music and Dance, funded by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage ‘Culture Promotion Fund.’

The Suite is subtitled Kazimierz Serocki in memoriam, as a tribute to composer Kazimierz Serocki. The work contains a number of interesting performance techniques, the aim of which is to emphasize the equal importance of the solo and orchestral parts. The four-part composition also includes references to popular music, which was often a great inspiration for Serocki.

The piece was performed by the Zielona Góra Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra and the TrombQuartet conducted by Henry Kennedy.
