The organist Krzysztof Karcz and trombonist Tomasz Stolarczyk inaugurated the 9th Lower Silesian Music Festival on August 1, 2021 in the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The Festival will run from August to October.
The theme of this year’s edition of the Lower Silesian Music Festival is “Searching for harmony,” as the last year has shown how important art, music and words are to all of us. The 100th anniversary of Władysław Żeleński‘s death in 2021 also influenced the festival program. Żeleńki’s works will be performed at each of the concerts.
The upcoming events are two August concerts in the interiors of baroque churches in Polanica-Zdrój and Stary Wielisław. On 1 August, audiences heard Krzysztof Karcz and Tomasz Stolarczyk in works by Żeleński, Johann Sebastian Bach and Georg Friedrich Handel. On August 22, the violinist Karol Lipiński and organist Adam Klarecki will perform at 7:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Sorrows in Stary Wielisław.
The concerts in September and October will feature such virtuosos as cellist Jan Kalinowski, pianist Marek Szlezer and organist Mateusz Rzewuski.
