Conductor, violinist, teacher, and composer Emil Młynarski was born on 18 July 1870 in Kibarty near Suwałki and died on 5 April 1935 in Warsaw. A graduate of the Saint Petersburg Conservatory gave concerts with great success in all then important cultural centers in Europe and the United States. He quickly gained recognition as a violin virtuoso and conductor while collaborating with the most prestigious orchestras. His most outstanding musical work is considered to be Violin Concerto in D minor, Op. 11, which was awarded at the Ignacy Jan Paderewski Composition Competition in Leipzig in 1898. He was a persistent promoter of Polish music, presenting newly created Polish operas and ballets. In 1925, he organized the Polish Music Festival in Paris.
The concert is organized by the Institute of Music and Dance from the funds of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage. Admission is free, but prior booking is required. To RSVP, contact: martyna.sojka@imit.org.pl.
