The latest work by Aleksandra Garbal, entitled Ostatnie słowa Aniołów i Ludzkich Serc przed Końcem Czasów [The Last Words of Angels and Human Hearts before the End of Time], was premiered on the website of the Church of Saint Catherine in Toszek as well as YouTube on May 3. The work was written on the occasion of the fourth anniversary of the Novena to Our Lady of Toszek, to the texts of Marian prayers from around the world. The composition was recorded by the composer, her family and friends from various continents of the world.
The composer, pianist and harpsichordist Aleksandra Garbal, is a graduate of the Music Academy in Katowice and the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw. She has won a number of awards at piano and composition competitions, including second prize at the Tadeusz Baird Composition Competition and the first prize at the Ryszard Bukowski Composition Competition. She is a member of the Polish Composers’ Union, Polish Society of Contemporary Music and ZAiKS Authors’ Association.
