Long-time Paderewski Festival Board member and current Board President Marjorie Hamon has been named as the 2017 “Sweet Art” of the Year by Studios on the Park in Paso Robles, CA. The dual objective of the “Sweet Art” designation is to celebrate a Champion of the Arts and to raise funds for Studios on the Park transformational arts education programs. Hamon will be honored at the annual Sweet Art Fundraising Luncheon on February 14 at noon.
As a resident for over 50 years, Hamon has been a business leader, an arts philanthropist and a community advocate in Paso Robles. She has volunteered her time to groups and events ranging from the local Boy Scouts to the AYSO youth soccer league to the Pioneer Day Parade. In addition to serving the Paderewski Festival in important roles as Treasurer and President, she and her husband John Hamon have also opened their home to young pianists from Poland and the Ukraine visiting on the Cultural Exchange, as well as other Festival guests.
Studios on the Park is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit open studios art center founded by Sasha Irving, who is also a dedicated partner of the Paderewski Festival in Paso Robles.
