The Young Polish Philharmonic Orchestra, under the baton of Adam Klocek, gave concerts in Puławy, Łódź, Wrocław, Warsaw and Katowice between November 18 and 23, 2016. During its 10th concert tour, the Orchestra presented Trumpet Concerto in E-flat major by Johann Nepomuk Hummel (featuring Israeli trumpeter Yigal Meltzer), Sinfonia Concertante for Four Winds in E-flat major, K. 297b by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Symphony No. 3 in E-flat major “Eroica” by Ludwig van Beethoven.
The Orchestra consists of 43 students, ages 16-21, selected from nationwide auditions from music schools and universities, and is the only Polish youth orchestra subsidized from private funds. The young musicians receive annual financial scholarships from the Zwierciadło Foundation, which organizes 2 concert tours a year. Each tour is preceded by artistic workshops, taught by teachers from local Academies of Music, musicians of the National Philharmonic Orchestra, Sinfonia Varsovia Orchestra and foreign artists – soloists and members of well-known orchestras.
