PMC Dir. Marek Żebrowski will speak at the conference held at the Warsaw University Library on Dec. 1 devoted to the Music Archives and Composers’ Collections held by Polish Libraries. The title of his talk, “Collection of Manuscripts by Polish Composers held at the Polish Music Center in Los Angeles” will focus on the core collection that includes handwritten scores by Baird, Bacewicz, Lutosławski, Meyer, Ptaszyńska, and Penderecki, among others, as well as the more recent donations of the archives of Bronisław Kaper, Ignacy Jan Paderewski, Roman Ryterband, Zygmunt Stojowski, and Henryk Wars.

Dir. Żebrowski will also be a guest at the Music Academy in Krakow in mid-December. He will deliver a talk on Paderewski’s concert life (“Paderewski przy fortepianie”) at a conference there and will be heard performing two piano quintets at the Florianka Concert Hall in Kraków on December 14. The program will feature rarely-heard Piano Quintet (completed in 1953) by Tadeusz Majerski and Żebrowski’s own arrangement for piano quintet of Gabriel Fauré’s Dolly Suite.
