On July 30, 2016 at the Sembrich Museum in Bolton Landing, NY, Polish violinist Kinga Augustyn performed a recital of Polish music with pianist Matthieu Cogne.  On the program:  Henryk Wieniawski (1835-1880): Legende, Op. 8; Frederic Chopin: (1810- 1849): Nocturne in C Sharp Minor (arr. Antoni Cofalik) and Mazurka in A Major (transcription from D Major, arr. Fritz Kreisler), Op. 33 No. 3; Aleksander Zarżycki (1834-1895): Romance, Op. 16 and Mazurka in G Major, Op. 26; Henryk Mikołaj Górecki (1933-2012): Sonatina in One Movement, Op. 8 (1956) and Little Fantasia, Op. 73; Krzysztof Penderecki (b. 1933): Capriccio for solo violin (2008); Witold Lutosławski (1913-1994): Recitativo e Arioso (1951); Zygmunt Noskowski (1846-1909): Chanson ancienne; Ignacy Jan Paderewski (1860-1941): Chanson, Op. post. and Mélodie, Op. 16 no. 2 (arr. Stanisław Barcewicz); Piotr Drożdżewski (b.1948): Two Caprices for solo violin; and Henryk Wieniawski (1835-1880): Polonaise de concert in D Major, Op. 4.

Augustyn’s next performance will be on August 5, 2016, at Bargemusic in Brooklyn, NY. Her program for solo violin will include Piotr Drożdżewski’s Two Caprices (1990) and Krzysztof Penderecki’s Capriccio (2008).
