Polish conductor Agnieszka Duczmal will be celebrating her 70th birthday this year. Duzcmal has won many prestigious awards and honors, including National Competition for Conductors in Katowice, the Silver Medal of Herbert von Karajan at the International Meeting of Young Orchestras, and the title of “La donna del mondo” awarded by the International Cultural Centre. She has also made a vast number of recordings for Chamber Orchestra of Polish Radio and Television and the “Amadeus” Chamber Orchestra of Polish Radio as well as the BBC in London, the CBC in Montreal, and other radio and television recordings in Germany, Belgium, Mexico and Japan. The concert program consists of Fryderyk Chopin’s Piano Concerto in F minor, Op. 21 No. 2, Bedřich Smetana’s String Quartet in E minor No. 1 “From My Life” and Bogusław Schaeffer’s Kesukaan I.
