On October 18, the musical treasures of the late Renaissance and Baroque period in Poland were showcased at the 2015 Paderewski Lecture-Recital in celebration of the PMC’s 30th anniversary. Presented by Adam Knight Gilbert and the USC Thornton Baroque Sinfonia ensemble, this program featured rarely-heard vocal and instrumental masterpieces by Wojciech Długoraj (1550-1619), Grzegorz Gerwazy Gorczycki (1665-1734), Jakub Polak (1545-1605), and Mikołaj Zieleński (1550-1615), among others. Program notes provided are by violinist Stefan Plewniak. This program was selected for the Thornton Center Stage broadcast on KUSC FM.
As a part of this fall festival of early Polish music, Baroque Sinfonia and Adam Gilbert also presented a concert of early music repertoire from Germany, Italy and Poland on October 9.
