‘Self-Imposed Exile’ is a collaboration between composer/multi-reedman Aaron Kruziki and composer/pianist Jakub Rojek, who have been musical colleagues for 9 years, and sound designer Shaun Sutkus. Their Hatchfund project, Sounds From The Self-imposed Exile, is a pioneering attempt to combine live improvisation, composition and sound technology into one cohesive live performance vehicle, which will open up more avenues to further sonic exploration in the future. They recorded in New York’s Steinway Hall on the winter solstice of 2014, and they are seeking funds to enable them to release this new music to the world in LP and CD format, as well as producing a DVD.
