Unity for Ukraine (Apr 8)

As savage brutality is being unleashed on the Ukrainian people, artists of many nationalities, united by the universal bonds of music, will stand together to show the world that the human spirit can triumph over aggression and that light can overcome darkness. The ‘Unity for Ukraine’ Concert will take place on April 8, organized by the Ukrainian Institute of America and the Polish Cultural Institute in New York.

Fifteen exceptional musicians will perform, including Ain Anger, bass, Alexander Bedenko, clarinet, Kaya Bryla-Weiss, viola, Ettore Causa, violin, Yves Dhar, cello, Julie Eskar, violin, Adam Golka, piano, Franz Hackl, trumpet, Slau Halatyn, piano/vocals, Solomiya Ivakhiv, violin, José Ramón Mendez, piano, Pavel Šporcl, violin, Kalle Toivio, piano, Jan Vogler, cello, and Andrius Žlabys, piano. The program will feature music by Isaac Albeniz, J.S. Bach, Johannes Brahms, Fryderyk Chopin, Viktor Kosenko, Bela Kovacs, Jules Massenet, Serhiy Prokofiev, Jan Sibelius, Pavel Šprocl, and Richard Strauss.

The majestic Harry F. Sinclair House, home of the Ukrainian Institute, is the venue for this exceptional event featuring an esteemed group of accomplished musicians.

An exhibition of antiwar posters by Polish artist Jacek Staniszewski will accompany the concert. Jacek Staniszewski as a PhD professor currently runs The Social Propaganda Studio which is a part of the Faculty of Graphic Design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk.⁠ He has designed over 500 posters for exhibitions, theater plays and concerts, as well as visual identities of numerous music albums covers.

Ticket price: $100/person (minimum), fully tax-deductible, in support of United Ukrainian American Relief Committee humanitarian assistance programs for Ukrainians. All guests are invited to a reception following the performance.

LA Benefit Concert for Ukraine (Apr 24)

An evening of classical music benefiting the refugees of Ukraine—featuring music composed by Puccini, Vivaldi, Chopin, Mozart, Bellini and more—will be held in the LA area on April 24. The event will include an international cast of artists: soprano Aneta Augustyn, violinist Myroslava Khomik, pianist Mark Salters, cellist Pola Benke, violinist Beata Gilbert, violist Hailey Walterman, and special guest artist, young soprano Sophie Zatoka.

Profits from the event will go to help refugees on the Polish/Ukrainian border via Caritas Ukraine.

Celebration of Polish Constitution Day & Salute to Ukraine (May 1)

The Lira Ensemble presents ‘A Musical Celebration of Polish Constitution Day & A Salute to Ukraine’ in Des Plaines, IL on May 1. The concert will feature Polish and American patriotic music, as well as Ukrainian hymns, performed by the Lira Singers Quartet and Lira Chamber Players.
