Jazz Cafe Posk

There are over 3500 pubs and bars in the bustling city of London, and among those is the Jazz Café POSK. Known as one of London’s top jazz clubs, Café POSK is run by volunteers who share a passion for live music and love to make space for new and upcoming musicians. Café POSK is located in the basement of the Polish Social and Cultural Association and has regular concerts on Friday and Saturday evenings. Starting this week, the next few concerts will feature some amazing young and fresh Polish musicians on the rise.

JAKUB KLIMIUK QUINTET

Jakub Klimiuk Quintet is a new project combining modern jazz with influences from Scandinavian improvised music, Eastern European folk and contemporary classical pieces. 

The leader of the band is a guitarist born in Poland, currently a student at the prestigious Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London. The band features in-demand musicians, students and alumni of the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, and Trinity Laban.Despite the young age, musicians have performed at venues like Vortex, 606 or Ronnie Scott’s and individually worked with Martin Speake, Tom Challenger, NYJO, Morsyca, Donovan Haffner and Húrra.

JERRY & THE PELICAN SYSTEM 

Jerry & The Pelican System will present music from his recent release “Sariani” which combines the slowly shifting electronic textures of ambient with his deep-rooted love of experimental and free jazz. 

Jerry & The PelicanSystem is an alternative musical concept that’s headed by Jerzy Mączyński, young Polish Jazz and experimental saxophonist and composer, Master Student of Berklee College of Music. His previous, debut album was released in 2019 in the legendary and prestigious Polish Jazz series and contains music that defies classifications.

AGATA KUBIAK QUINTET Project Launch at Jazz Café POSK

Agata Kubiak Quintet is a new project from acclaimed London-based jazz violinist and singer Agata Kubiak. The Quintet features Ralph Brown on piano, Tom Kenworthy on guitar, Aram Bahmaie on double bass and Dave Storey on drums. This new record differs from Agata’s debut release ‘Polarity’ with a higher prevalence of rhythmic energy, riff-based structures and sonic exploration, while maintaining the strong connection with Polish jazz tradition, ECM-inspired sound worlds and intimate, poetic approach to lyrics both in Polish and English.
