The Kraków branch of the Polish Composers’ Union (ZKP) just announced the Sixth International Krzysztof Penderecki Competition for Young Composers. Composers under the age of 35 are invited to send no more than two works for a chamber ensemble of flute, oboe, clarinet, piano, violin, viola and cello that is between 9-14 minutes long.

The awarded composer will receive a $1,000 Main Prize and the composition will be world-premiered during the 35th Kraków International Festival of Composers in April of 2023. All submissions must be received by January 30, 2023.  The Competition Jury includes Marcel Chyrzyński (Chair), as well as Zbigniew Bargielski, Ivan Buffa (Slovakia), Federico Gardella (Italy), and Wojciech Widłak.
