Run by the Institute of Music and Dance (IMiT) and funded by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage (MkiDN), the “Composing Commissions” program annually endorses new works by Polish and foreign composers. The pieces represent a wide array of genres, from contemporary classical music and music theatre performances through pieces combining different musical genres (e.g. popular and traditional music) and interdisciplinary projects merging music, performing and visual arts. The music is made available to various institutions, including major concert halls, small centers, and non-specialist audiences. In this year’s competitions, 96 projects worth PLN 2,780,210 were chosen for support.

A full list of applications for the 9th edition of the program is available on the website of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage and on the website of the Institute of Music and Dance in the section Documents to download.
