“Music in the image. Image in the sound” is a series of concerts, workshops, and lectures promoting contemporary music, organized by the Elżbieta Chojnacka Centre for Contemporary Harpsichord Music. The final concert will be broadcast on 10 December 2020 on the Modern Harpsichord YouTube channel.

Musical works inspired by painting, literature, mathematics, architecture, industry, and the Silesian region will be presented in the series. The program includes premieres of works for harpsichord by composers Philip Czapłowski, Sławomir Kaczorowski, Tomasz Kamieniak, Dominik Lasota, Weronika Ratusińska-Zamuszko and Adam Wesołowski.

The final concert will feature works commissioned by the City of Tarnowskie Góry, the Tarnowskie Góry Land Lovers’ Association and the Palace in Rybna, inspired by the sites inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2017: the Historic Silver Mine and the Black Trout Adit. These are the Silver concerto for a harpsichord and sounds of the Historic Silver Mine (parts I and III) by Adam Wesołowski, Bells by Andrzej Dziadek and Painted on silver by Przemysław Szczotka. We will also hear pieces by Tomasz Kamieniak from Tarnowskie Góry, dedicated to the performers of the concert – pianist Gabriela Szendzielorz-Jungiewicz and harpsichordist Aleksandra Gajecka-Antosiewicz – and compositions written for the patron of the Centre, Elżbieta Chojnacka.
