The Sopot Chamber Philharmonic (PFK) will present a May 6 concert with works by Tadeusz Kassern and Aleksander Tansman. Featured on the program are two young female conductors, Paulina Dołęgowska and Izabela Burda representing the new generation of orchestral leaders; they will take up the baton in Kassern’s Concertino for Oboe and Stringsand Variations on the Theme by Frescobaldi by Tansman. Dołęgowska currently studies conducting at the Gdańsk Music Academy and also plays oboe for the Toruń Symphony Orchestra. Burda is also a student at the Gdańsk Music Academy who recently participated in master classes given by José Maria Florêncio and George Tchitchinadze. The soloists for the evening include oboist Mateusz Kubański and violinist Joachim Oller.
