The 12th International Piano Forum “Bieszczady Without Borders”, organized by the Podkarpacka Foundation for the Development of Culture, will be held between February 5 – 10 in the Carpathian region. The main theme of this year’s edition is “From Bach to Penderecki.”

The event aims at presenting and discussing the full range of topics that are important for young musicians: music theory, practice techniques, health and rehabilitation, promotional activities, and knowledge of the business world. Around 200 selected participants from Poland, Slovakia, the Ukraine and Russia will take part in masterclasses, lectures, seminars, concerts and a competition. The list of invited guest artists includes past laureates of the International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition, including Eugen Indjic (1970) and Akiko Ebi (1980), as well as Krzysztof Kobyliński, the Kayah and Royal String Quartets, the Accademia dell’Arco Chamber Orchestra and the Lviv National Chamber Orchestra “Akademia.” Tickets will be available at the office of the Carpathian Foundation for the Development of Culture in Sanok.

The Podkarpacka Foundation was established in 2009. The main objective of its projects is to support education and development of young Polish pianists, maintain national tradition, and to cultivate and develop a national and cultural consciousness, as well as to promote international cooperation and integration with particular attention to the Carpathian region and music culture of Poland, Slovakia and Ukraine.
