The IV Festival of Contemporary Music “Nowa Muzyka” will be presented by the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Department of The Polish Composers Union (ZKP) and the City Culture Center in Bydgoszcz from May 6-8, 2016. Admission to all concerts will be free. This festival has been held in the Bydgoszcz concert halls for four years and garners more followers every year. The goal of the event is to present contemporary music created by modern composers to the public. During the festival, music will be mixed with visual arts, including multimedia shows and painting exhibitions. Since last year the festival has been held under the auspices of the Krzysztof Penderecki European Music Center.

The Festival starts with a concert of electronic music on May 6 in the City Culture Center of Bydgoszcz, featuring accordion music and works composed for the saxophone and amplified piano in many variations by Zbigniew Chojnacki, Sławomir Opaliński, and Mateusz Ryczek. Electronic effects and a multimedia show will accompany the instruments. The following day, there will be a chamber music concert in the foyer of the Pomeranian Philharmonic, including works by Michał Dobrzyński, Marcin Gumiela and Piotr A. Komorowski. Finally, on May 8 a music concert for children will be held in the City Culture Center, performed by young musical artists, with works by Magdalena Cynk and Aleksander Brejza.
