The 7th edition of the “Days of New Music” Festival will be held between January 18 – 22 in Gdańsk. The theme of this year’s event will be based on two ideas: exploring aspects of collective collaboration vs. individual compositional process, and presentation of music by avant-garde artists. Since its very beginning, the festival has focused on presenting unconventional music open to all kinds of experimental, contemporary and avant-garde art that define new music as a genre. It especially aims to develop new forms, content and ways to attract listeners who are not particularly familiar with contemporary music trends.

This year’s program features various collaborative and individual premieres, including: Radar by Polish drummer Krzysztof Topolski (Arszyn) and Robert Skrzyński(Micromelancolié) (Jan 18), vlna by  Polish violinist and composer Olga Wojciechowska and Serbian guitarist Vukasin Djelic (Jan 19), Preemptive Musical Offerings to Satisfy Our Future Masters by German artist Adi Gelbart (Jan 21), Meshes and The First Time in Poland by German electronic duet Joasihno, and collaborative works by NeoQuartet and Kwartludium (Jan 22) as well as electro-acoustic duo Pękala and Japanese artist Asuna Arashi (Jan 20).
