The 6th edition of the Art Mintaka Festival takes place on December 6 – 8 at the MOB District Museum in Bydgoszcz [Muzeum Okręgowe MOB]. The Festival’s three evenings of exceptional performances by leading Polish contemporary musicians and composers features several world premieres of chamber works commissioned by the Festival.

Friday, December 6, 2024, 7:30 PM

  • Joanna Czapińska performs Morton Feldman’s For Bunita Marcus on piano
  • Joanna Freszel (soprano) and Kwartludium (Dagna Sadkowska, Piotr Nowicki, Michał Górczyński, Paweł Nowicki) will present:
    • Żaneta Rydzewska’s Entomofonia
    • Joanna Wnuk-Nazarowa’s Kołysanki [Lullabies] (WORLD PREMIERE)

Saturday, December 7, 2024, 7:30 PM

  • Ewa Liebchen (flutes, electronics) performs solo works:
    • Doina Rotaru’s Japanese Garden, Marta Śniady’s I will always be there for you, and Sławomir Kupczak’s Halny.
  • Liebchen Is joined by Joanna Czapińska (piano) for a new work by a laureate of the Scena Młodych program (WORLD PREMIERE)
  • Freszel and Kwartludium return with:
    • Andras Ellendersen’s Verhugamyndir
    • Rafał Gorzycki’s Ślepi krążymy w zaułkach planety (WORLD PREMIERE)

Sunday, December 8, 2024, 7:30 PM

  • Wojciech Błażejczyk (guitars, string instruments, electronics) performs his works, including selections from Droga czterech bram and his new work, Song of Blindman (WORLD PREMIERE)
  • Freszel and Kwartludium conclude the festival with:
    • Peter Machajdik’s Krypta
    • Zygmunt Krauze’s Słuchaj (WORLD PREMIERE)
