The 53rd “Poznan Music Spring” Festival of Contemporary Music began on May 23 and came to its conclusion this past weekend on May 26. This festival of contemporary music featured an incredible variety of composers as well as their pieces. Premieres of works by Ewa Fabiańska-Jelińska, Artur Kroschel, Monika Kędziora and Sławomir Czarnecki took place with stunning performances by artists such as the Bałaban Family Quartet and pianist Krzysztof Sowiński. Admission to all concerts was free!
The festival program was organized by the Poznań Branch of the Polish Composers’ Union and the Music Encounters Foundation. It included the following 13 world premieres:

- Lidia Wysocka: Smugi for solo flute
- Barbara Kaszuba: Znikomek for baritone and cello, words by B. Leśmian (2024)
- Jaromir Gajewski: Testament for baritone and cello, words by T. Szewczenko (2024)
- Ignacy Zalewski: Mahakaruna for 2 flutes and piano (2023)
- Enjott Schneider: Beyond Stillness for 2 flutes and piano (2023)
- Reinhard Karger: lost and found for chamber ensemble
- Lars Carlsson: The Other Wave for chamber ensemble
