The 12th Wawel at Dusk festival was held from 6 July to 31 August in the Arcade and Batory courtyards of Wawel Royal Castle. In honor of this year’s theme of “Preserving Chopin,” music by Fryderyk Chopin, Stanisław Moniuszko, Karol Szymanowski, Ignacy Jan Paderewski and Witold Lutosławski will be presented. Polish music will be portrayed in the broader context of musical culture. The program included works by Maurice Ravel, Claude Debussy, Artur Malawski, Adam Walaciński and Marcel Chyrzyński.
The concerts featured conductor Łukasz Borowicz, pianists Kevin Kenner and Mariola Cieniawa, cellist Bartosz Koziak, sopranos Katarzyna Oleś-Blacha and Iwona Socha. Young musicians and winners of significant music competitions also performed, including pianists Krzysztof Książek and Marcin Koziak, violinist Aleksandra Kuls, guitarist Dmytro Holovenko and orchestra CORDA Cracovia.
