The concert series “100 songs for 100 years of Independence”—in which the leading soloists of the Łódź Opera Theater seek to convey what the most beautiful songs of Polish poets and composers say about the homeland and what it is to be Polish—continues in May. There will be plenty of reflection on seemingly trivial matters: worries and joys, feelings both great and small, lofty thoughts as well as mundane ideas. Thus, in a truly Polish manner, these concerts present philosophical reflection but with plenty of humor.
This month’s singers from the Łódź Opera Theater are Agnieszka Makówka and Łukasz Motkowicz, Aleksandra Nawe at the piano. The program includes songs by Moniuszko, Chopin and Niewiadomski.
