Stanisław Soyka, renowned Polish musician, has died at the age of 66. Known for his distinctive voice and emotional interpretations, Soyka blended jazz, pop, soul, classical music and sung poetry, becoming one of the most celebrated interpreters of Polish song.
Born in Żory and educated in Gliwice, he debuted at the Jazz Jamboree festival at 23 and soon collaborated with leading jazz figures including Michał Urbaniak, Wojciech Karolak, and Tomasz Stańko. His career spanned jazz, pop, and choral works, with songs such as “Tolerancja (Na miły Bóg), “Czas nas uczy pogody”, “Play It Again,” and “Cud niepamięci.”
Soyka passed away in Sopot on August 21, 2025, shortly before a scheduled performance at the Top of the Top Festival.
The farewell ceremony for Stanisław Soyka will take place on September 8, 2025, at 12:00 PM at the Church of Our Lady of Perpetual Help [Kościół pw. Matki Bożej Nieustającej Pomocy], 16 Alfred Nobel Street, Warsaw. At 2:00 PM, the funeral service will continue at the Military Cemetery, 43/45 Powązkowska Street, Warsaw.
