The upcoming 2nd edition of the IMAGINE – Culture Without Borders Festival, taking place from August 14 to 17, 2025 in Kazimierz Dolny in Poland, will bring together artists from around the world for a series of concerts and exhibitions highlighting intercultural dialogue through the arts.
The festival program features a wide range of performances, including the world premiere of William Goldstein‘s one-act opera Kazimierz – A Story of Love and Destiny, and a recital by an Israeli oud player, Taiseer Elias. Audiences will also hear performances by four pianists selected for the 19th International Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw – Yehuda Prokopowicz, Adam Kałduński, Zuzanna Sejbuk, and Krzysztof Wierciński.
A notable highlight for those interested in Polish music is a performance of selected movements from Trois Ballades Hébraïques by Roman Ryterband (1914–1979). The work will be performed by the Kar-Iwo Duo of Karolina Mikołajczyk (violin) and Iwo Jedynecki (accordion), who previously appeared in concerts organized by the Polish Music Center.
Additional festival events include a concert by Duo Haroni performing live music to accompany a silent film. Duo Haroni consists of violinist Adi Haroni and pianist Bishara Haroni. Together, they’ll perform works by George Gershwin, Felix Mendelssohn, Fritz Kreisler, Manuel de Falla, Camille Saint-Saëns, Aram Chachaturian, Franz Liszt and more. The program also contains elements of klezmer music and the folksong Yiddishe Mame.
