Following on her triumphant return to Santiago, Chile to perform Wieniawski’s Violin Concerto No. 2 in April, Polish violinist Kinga Augustyn returns to the US for several concerts across the country in May. It starts with a Spring Concert in her adopted home of New York City at the John Paul II Friendship Center on May 1, featuring works by Samuel Barber, Eugène Ysaye and Karen Naifeh Harmon.

Then on May 7, Augustyn turns to mainly Polish repertoire for a Violin Recital with Piano in Arlington, VA, in collaboration with pianist Audrey Andrist. This program will include: Aleksander Zarzycki – Mazurka in G major, Op. 26; Ignacy Jan Paderewski – Melody; Fritz Kreisler – Liebesleid; Henryk WieniawskiLegende, Op. 17; Henryk WieniawskiScherzo- Tarantelle, Op. 16; Karen Naifeh Harmon – Gypsy; Camille Saint-Saëns – Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso, Op. 28; and Pablo de Sarasate – Zigeunerweisen, Op. 20.

Next on May 17, Augustyn will perform Barber’s Violin Concerto with the New Sussex Symphony and Jordan Brown, conductor in Newton, NJ. Finally, she will end her busy month of performances in Tulsa, OK. There Ausgustyn will perform two different programs with the Tulsa Honors Orchestra and Tulsa Honors Baroque Orchestra, as well as a solo performance of Karen Naifeh Harmon’s Appassionata Air & Obsidian for Violin.
