Our partners at the Holocaust Museum in Los Angeles have curated several excellent concerts and music-related events for this fall/winter season. Entitled ‘Music and the Holocaust’ and offered with free admission, the series starts this weekend. Please see the list of events below and save the date!

Recovered Voices: Exiled Composers and Hollywood Film Music

Violinist Adam Millstein and pianist Dominic Cheli will perform a one hour selection of music by composers who shaped the sound of film music. All of the composers were from different parts of Europe and, due to their Jewish heritage, were forced into exile following the rise of the Nazi Party.

The Cracow Duo

Internationally acclaimed cellist Jan Kalinowski and pianist Marek Szlezer will perform a live concert of works by Polish-Jewish composers. Presented in partnership with the USC Polish Music Center and supported by the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland.

Freszel Duo

The Freszel Duo will perform ‘Works by great Polish composers of Jewish descent,’ featuring compositions spanning the years immediately before, during, and after World War II. Presented in partnership with the USC Polish Music Center in Los Angeles and Polish Cultural Institute New York.
