Based in the beautiful coastal Tri-city area of Poland, the Baltic Opera Festival is set to debut with its very first edition! The festival will take place from July 14 – July 17, and is full of excitement.
The Baltic Opera Festival gives new life to existing operatic works with brand new productions, many of which will premiere on the outdoor stage of the Opera Leśna, a.k.a the “Forest Opera”. Tomasz Konieczny, world renowned Bass-Baritone and Festival Co-Founder, came up with the idea to use this space for the new Festival. After performing Wagner’s Das Rheingold on this stage back in 2009, he knew it would be the perfect space for these productions.
Performances will take place on the stages of the Opera Leśna in Sopot and the Baltic Opera in Gdańsk and will feature new opera productions involving brilliant soloists, conductors and creatives from Poland and across the globe. There will be masterclasses, chances to meet successful musicians, and more.
Performing musicians will include the Baltic Opera’s orchestra and choir, as well as world-class artists invited to cooperate, such as Andrzej Dobber, Małgorzata Walewska, Boris Kudlička and maestro Marek Janowski.
