The high level of education is not the only reason to be proud of the University of Warsaw. One of its ensembles, the Academic Choir of the Warsaw University, is one of the best and oldest choirs of this kind in Poland. At 7pm on April 27th, the ensemble will celebrate its centenary with a Gala Concert at the Warsaw Philharmonic. The program will consist of a cappella compositions by Polish and foreign composers, presenting the ensemble’s rich repertoire. Works by W. Byrd, R. Vaughan Williams, K. Szymanowski, P. Hindemith, P. Łukaszewski, M. Bembinow and others will be performed.

The solo parts will be performed by: Marta Czarkowska (soprano), Paweł Kowalewski (tenor), Krzysztof Chalimoniuk (baritone) and Krzysztof Łazicki (bass-baritone). The ensemble will be conducted by Irina Bogdanovich. The Amici Canentes Choir of the Society of the Friends of the University of Warsaw Choir will perform as a guest conducted by Agnieszka Zińczuk.
