The celebration of the Year of Tadeusz Kulisiewicz, Polish graphic artist and draftsman, culminated with a concert on 17 January at the Kalisz Philharmonic.
The Kalisz Philharmonic Orchestra, under the baton of Maestro Adam Klocek, performed masterpieces of neoclassicism infused with traditional Polish melodies by two contemporaries of Kulisiewicz: Concert for string orchestra by Grażyna Bacewicz and Concerto for orchestra by Witold Lutosławski. The evening also featured a screening of the documentary film Białe i Czarne, directed by Stanisław Szymański.
