The vocal sextet proMODERN presented material from their latest album “Comfort zone” (DUX 1634) on 15 November at the Paderewski Pomeranian Philharmonic in Bydgoszcz and on December 5 at the Chopin Music University in Białystok.

Formed in 2012 by eminent singer-soloists, proMODERN performs the most demanding works by contemporary composers. The musicians have won four Fryderyk awards and broken the Spotify streaming record. In 2018, they were nominated for the Coryphaeus Award of Polish Music in the “Discovery of the Year” category.

During this concert, the ensemble presented avant-garde compositions by Witold Lutosławski, Krzysztof Penderecki, Jagoda Szmytka and Wojtek Blecharz. The works were intertwined with Rafał Ryterski’s extraordinary electronic interludes, created especially for this project. The project was co-financed by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage from the Culture Promotion Fund under the “Music” program implemented by the Institute of Music and Dance.
