On Saturday, October 27, the LMU College of Communication and Fine Arts – Department of Music presents Polish pianist Wojciech Kocyan in a faculty recital featuring works by Frédéric Chopin, Maria Szymanowska, Ignacy Jan Paderewski, Karol Szymanowski, and Grażyna Bacewicz. Not only will audiences enjoy this excellent program of Polish composers, but also there will be a contest and prizes as wells as a reception to follow the concert in the George A.V. Dunning Courtyard.
In addition to Polish music, the day before LMU will host a screening of the Polish film “Warsaw 44” directed by Jan Komasa on Friday, October 26 at 7:30 p.m. in Mayer Theatre. Sponsored by Paderewski Music Society in Los Angeles and the Polish American Film Society in celebration of the 100th anniversary of Polish Independence.
